Meet Dr. Dennis Gage and learn about his practice, some of the technology they use and what he and Park Avenue Endocrinology have to offer to every patient that comes in.
Dr. Gage: I'm Dr. Dennis Gage and I'm an endocrinologist here at Park Avenue Endocrinology. When I see a patient, it's very very critical that the patient feel that they are the center of the universe of what we are doing so I call it patient center care. One of the biggest problems in todays medicine is that doctors are pecking away at the EMR and the patient gets the sense they're not even listening. When we have a patient come in for diabetic care for example, we have point of service delivery. What that means is if you have diabetes, I know what your control is within 6 minutes with a test, I know what's happening to your the inside of your body within 15 minutes with a test that's done right here. We have equipment that's state of the art, we have the ability to look at somebody's eye within a minute and actually diagnosis eye damage from diabetes which most doctors in the city don't have. I think it's extremely important that the patient feel that we are involved with them, that they're not just seeing the doctor, they're seeing their team.
