Debbie Mandel, stress management expert, discusses how to overcome one's insecurities. We all have our own individual strengths and weaknesses which make us unique, but unfortunately with those strengths and weaknesses come insecurities. Although it can be difficult to completely void all feelings of insecurity, it is important to build on one's own strengths, and let your unique light shine for all to see. What follows will be an inner strength that can combat any weakness.


Debbie: We are all born with strengths and weaknesses and insecurities, and that drives our stress. So if I'm feeling insecure I might lash out, or I might push you away, or I might cocoon. The human condition is that we suffer and we have insecurities. So it is very important to know who you are, and to find your identity, and build on your strengths. We have stern inner critics that say, you're not good enough, you can't do this. It's very hard to build on a weakness, but it's much easier to build on a strength, and I believe in creative compensation. You have a loss, you don't measure up, get creative. Find that hobby that makes your heart sing, and then you feel special.
